A Brief History of Comeaux Caps

Jan 23rd 2020

Comeaux Caps, a family-owned and operated sewing factory headquartered in St. Amant, Louisiana, was founded in 1973. Edward “Sandy” Comeaux started his career as a sales rep, supplying workwear to stores around Louisiana. As he began thinking about how he could build his own business one day, a welder in Morgan City, LA shared with him that quality welders’ caps were always in short supply. Comeaux immediately began researching welders’ needs and deconstructing caps to determine the best design, and from there, Comeaux Caps was born. Comeaux began selling the caps throughout the South, and by the mid-1980s, Comeaux Caps had become the most dominant welding cap brand in America.

Comeaux Caps takes pride in the fact that we run our business “old school.” We believe that our commitment to delivering the highest quality products combined with true customer service and fast shipping equals Extreme Value for our customers. We started with that belief and have lived it every day since. This commitment here at Comeaux Caps has served us and our customers well. We have produced and shipped millions of premium-quality welders’ caps globally.

We won’t stop there either – we continue to innovate and look for new ways to provide the highest quality workwear to the welding industry. For example, some of our newer offerings include Flame Resistant shirts for those working in hazardous conditions. These shirts offer quality, comfort and safety at a great price. We back these shirts up with the same commitment as our other products, and we look forward to creating new, exciting products for years to come!
